The artwork in this exhibition represents a broad view, aesthetically, emotionally, and within the mirror of its reality, of the bounty and myriad of variety of plant growth on this planet. The work reminds us that we stand in precious balance with nature, and that to really "see" the illustrious botanical abundance of plant life on earth is to realize the strength of life itself - that through and for the ephemeral occurrences of wind and rain life continues on the planet. This exhibition constitutes that a prayer may be for this continuance.

 | GEORGE SHAW'S BRIDGES

George Shaw is a very prolific observer and approaches his subject from many different angles. What remains a common thread through his work is a combination of wisdom and aesthetic innocence, which makes for work that has a very otherworldly effect. He has a talent for glorifying what for many might be commonplace - to call it that seems unthinkable when viewing his work, as through his eyes, the world is a magnificent place. The bridges are both massive and unobtrusive, structures that mark the evolution of history, and the duality of time's passing. The artist affords us a clue into his own evolutionary process, that the bridge, being symbolic of passage from one domain to the other, becomes a personal metaphor. Remaining ever elusive, yet stating the obvious, these images are indicative of the beautiful simplicity of ingenuity.

 | Welcome to Caladan's Members' Gallery. There is a mutual attraction between the Gallery and the artists that come to us with their extraordinary and unusual work. We maintain the artistic integrity of the expression of reality, both individual and collective, through visual truth. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to do this on a continuous basis through the artists that share our uncommon direction. Here you will find their portfolios.

| CALADAN GALLERY presents visual art in the spirit of the maintenance of artistic integrity in the virtual community. We provide artists of all periods of development the opportunity to form an artistic society in which their visual expression is a vehicle for dialogue and communion in chaotic and confusing global environment. We have monthly juried group exhibitions which focus on subjects of depth, timeliness, and interpretive expansiveness. We also offer opportunities for artists to become juried members, displaying a good amount of their individual artwork. The act of exhibiting on the CALADAN site affords artists great exposure in the virtual, global community. It is also an opportunity to be part of a growing and thriving international art universe.
