Timely and Original

What defines the manifestation of good and evil? In every religious/spiritual tradition there is reference to the standards of intention. The moral process is at the forefront of evolution. We, as a species, the human species, are presumably the only one on this planet capable of distinguishing between moral justice and spiritual decrepitude. Therefore, on the hierarchy of level of spiritual development, naturally this is a measuring component.

There are obviously two meanings behind the title. One suggests that one is constantly motivated by the quality of intention of action, whether it is positive or negative. Of course, ones’ actions are not always dictated by a degree of morality; there might be action taken for survival, or pleasure, etc. One can further break these actions into good or evil if one intends to spend a day seriously contemplating the nature of intention, but necessarily, a concept more readily available is the actual motivation behind acts of generosity or acts of maliciousness. The work selected for this exhibition cover both realms. There are the readily recognizable as well as the more conceptual, all somehow tying into a mutable, weaving pattern of personal and collective interpretation.

GEORGE SHAW: ELEMENTS

Recently, Gallery Member George Shaw had a solo exhibition at the MATV Gallery in Malden, MA entitled "Elements". We are delighted to present the photographs from this exhibition, representing the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Enter this show by clicking the image. There are two categories of two elements each, both with descriptions and corresponding element photographs. After this presentation, you will find this work under his name in the members' area. Enjoy!

Welcome to Caladan's Members' Gallery. There is a mutual attraction between the Gallery and the artists that come to us with their extraordinary and unusual work. We maintain the artistic integrity of the expression of reality, both individual and collective, through visual truth. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to do this on a continuous basis through the artists that share our uncommon direction. Here you will find their portfolios.
