Many say that Heaven and Hell are experienced here in this life on Earth. Many traditions employ the concepts as mechanisms for domination or control. Some base Heaven and Hell on reality. Some as metaphor. Perception of the concepts of Heaven and Hell become an observation in duality. The poles of this duality are experienced both on subtle and grandiose planes, and are evident in the varying interpretations of the work by the included artists. This exhibition runs concurrently with the anniversary of September 11th. If ever there is a Hell, it was illustrated on that day. The Heaven lies in the love extended to those caught in tragic situations.
