SLAUGHTER RUN
SLAUGHTER RUN

"A dear friend of mine, who suffered unspeakable horror while trying to rescue lives in the north tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, inspired this painting. In the face of a rescue too great to achieve, this firefighter’s mind protected him by transforming the human debris into cows.

I saw: cows to the slaughter, flowing across the canvas and off into the unseen."
